Debrecen

Debrecen is the second largest city of Hungary, the scientific and cultural centre of Eastern Hungary. The main sigths are: the historical momentous Great Church, the beautiful restored Kossuth Square, the famous Reformed College, the Déri Museum with its world-famous Munkácsy Trilogy, the new Aquaticum Medicinal and Bath Centre, and the Great Forest which give place for international sport competitions. Debrecen is also famous for its festivals, like: the Flower Festival, the Festival Week (in August) and the Debrecen Jazz Days (in early September) and the Autumn Cultural Days.

Hortobágy (One or half day trips)

The Hortobágy National Park which is part of the World Heritage could be a very exciting sigth for everybody who loves the nature. Visirots can discover the unique flora und fauna of the steppe. One of the most spectacular sights is the migration of the cranes in the autumn. Tens of thousands of Cranes, can be seen every October as they fly above the grasslands to their overnight roosting places. More than two millian domestic animals live here, a lot of them are ancient domestic animals which are found only here in the country. Tourist can visit the: Hortobágy Herdsmen Museum which shows the traditional herdsmen life on the puszta, Körszín Museum - the Exhibition about craftsmen in Hortobágy, Máta Stud, Horse Breeding Centre - the 300 year old stud with Hungarian breeds Horse-drawn carriage drive into the puszta, visiting famous Hungarian rare breeds such as grey cattle, Noniusz horse, water buffalo, Raczka sheep and woolly pig. Visitors can get an insight into the traditional life of local herdsmen. Tourists still like to visit these inns where they can taste the excellent herdsmen’s dishes and other specialities of the cuisine of the Great Plain.

River Tisza (One or half day trips)

Along Hugarys second largest river, visitors can take enjoying one or half day trips by horse, bicycle, kayak or boat. You can take part in bird watching from a boat or joyful open air cooking of fish soup, or you can visit small villages where traditions are kept alive through centurys.

Tokaj (One day tour)

Tokaj is an International Town of Grapes and Wine. and the histoncal wine-growing region of Tokaj-Hegyalj a is part of the World Heritage. The charming small town with its old houses, built in the protective environment of the rivers and the mountains, surrounded by nature. The woods attract visitors for long walks and hunting, the waters for fishing and boating, the meandering roads for cycling. Roaming in the streets of Tokaj, not only the unique and unparalleled richness of architectural monuments charms the visitor, but also the magic world of the cellars as well.

Eger (One day tour)

Eger, the most important tourist centre of the northern region, the Baroque gem of Hungary. The main sigths are: the medieval fortress - the victorious border castle of the 16th remind us of the struggle against the Ottoman armies, when in 1552 Captain István Dobó with his handful of defenders held out for more than a month against a force 44 times as great, the Eger's minaret wich stands in the middle of the beautiful Dobó Square, the Hungary's second-largest church: the Classicist-style Eger Basilica where during the tourist season, organ concerts can be heard every morning, and the 1660s built interesting Turkish bath which function to this day. The sun-drenched slopes embracing the city are excellent wineyards. The famous fiery red wines and whites can be tasted in the town cellars carved out of the rhyolite tuff. Tourist can make wonderful excursions in the nearby Bükk mountains and in Szilvásvárad.
